One-Minute Movie's Reflection

Pre-Production:
We came up with the idea of our movie when Luc said, "What about a movie when some kids break a vase?". That's how we began. Our biggest challenge was how do we make the kids replace the vase, that was priceless. Me and my partner created at least 5 different versions. Our biggest challenge was what to use for a vase to break.
Production:
We had to find a place to film our first scene, but in the end we winded up filming our first scene in Mr. Shaddox's Class. What struck me while filming was how we had to memorize long lines. I would memorize my lines instead of having the script right besides me.
Post-Production:
We had to figure out how to put music on our movie. We didn't have to re-record our movie, but we did have to shoot one more scene. The movie came out somewhat according to the script. We accidentally forgot our lines once and had to put the script right in front of us. Our Storyboard was the exact copy of our movie. At first we had to do voice overs, but in the end we just kept the original because with voice over,s we couldn't have music on our movie. Some advice I would give a young movie maker would be to make the actors memorize the lines and to use a Mac to edit and upload your movie.

Essential Questions

How does the need to belong and be accepted by others cloud our judgment and keep people from making good choices?

It makes it harder for others to fit in, like Robert in The Wave, and actually have real friends instead of people making fun of you and not letting you decide for yourself and make your own opinions. I believe that people should have freedom and equal right in order to make their own decisions between right and wrong. Thats means that everyone is accepted either in a good way, o a wrong way. People everywhere should have equality.

The Wave

Do you think that students are misunderstood by teachers and parents?

I think that they are because the parents don't really know what's going on in the classroom and they would have to see The Wave in action. But, also in a way, they are not misunderstood because the wave turned into a cult like society, which invaded Gordon High School, into making it into a society in which people think that you have to join in order to fit in. The Wave wasn't just a fab, but it was indeed, somehow like the Nazi's in World War II.

Spring Break (memoir)

It was a cool warm March morning. It was spring break. I was going to Virginia with my Aunt Bernice, Dante, my friend, and his mom, Ms. Charlene. My Aunt Bernice and her were like sisters so they put this trip together. When we got off the plane, it was 12:00 Eastern Standard Time. We also were in Washington D.C. And as we were driving to our resort in Massanutten, Virginia I saw the Washington Monument. As we got there I was sleep.

Dante woke me up in the rental car. Are we there yet? I'm tired., I said. “Yeah were there. Wow look at the office. So fancy., said Dante. Yeah wow. Lets go inside. As we went inside I took almost all of the pamphlets out of the stands inside. We each got 2 room keys. As we went to our car and left, we saw a skunk. Cool a skunk!, I said. Where is it? Take a picture!, said Ms. Charlene. It Left. Sorry., I said. As we arrived to our room, We saw 8 deer. Ms. Charlene started to take out her camera when they left. We went to our room. It was okay I guess. All night, Dante and I just watched T.V.

Day 2: We went to the office to change into the newer rooms. The new room had as jacuzzi bath tub which only me and my Aunt Bernice could use. Nice! This tub is sick!, I said. Really nice., said my Aunt Bernice. That day was really for looking around.

Day 3:We went to a brunch like place when we ate breakfast with someone who used to be a professional boxer who also met Mike Tyson. Afterwards, he showed us the nice homes that we could buy and go to every year. We didn't buy it but we wanted to. Afterwards, even though there was snow outside, we changed into our swim trunks to go into the inside water park. When we got there, we all went into the pool. Then when we got back to our room, we went to sleep.

Day 4: It was St. Patrick's Day and we went to ride Go Karts. It was my older brothers 31 birthday so I talked to him for quite a while. I was last in Go Karts. It was fun though.

Day 4: We went to Washington D.C. Where we went to Howard University, the first black college. Ms. Charlene went there for college and joined the sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA). So we went inside and my Aunt Bernice helped me pick out a Howard Jacket and a Key Chain for my mom. The Key Chain is gold and shiny. After Howard, we went down the street to a McDonald's and afterwards, to a Walgreen's where Ms. Charlene bought a Barrack Obama campaign T-Shirt. We were jealous because it was the last shirt they had. Then I got to pick what museum we got to visit. I want to be a Scientist for NASA, so I chose the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. When we got there it was $5.00 entrance fee plus the line was all the way outside. When we finally got inside, I noticed the actual ship from the Apollo Mission, the mission to the Moon. I was amazed and I took a picture of me in front of it. Then we went up stairs to see Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope which was playing. Then we saw the suit of a space chimpanzee.

Day 5: Finally what we came here for, Snowboarding! Ms. Charlene and Aunt Bernice went to the lounge to have a couple of drinks and to walk around. They also went to Wal-Mart. So Dante and I took Snowboarding Lessons. After the first lesson, I could go down the little hill. In the second lesson, we tried practicing the big hill. I actually achieved going down about 5 times with my new friend. Dante fell down and couldn't get up after the second time. When it was time to go, we went to Wal-Mart. We got a lot of groceries to make our room like home. And it did. We had groceries in the refrigerator and we had Ice Cream in the freezer.

Day 6: As we were leaving Massanutten, Virginia, we had to go to Washington D.C. to get to the Airport. As we were boarding, my Aunt Bernice couldn't take her bottle of Wine on the plane with her and it was already too late to put it in her luggage so she couldn't take it back to her wine collection. As we sat on our 5 hour ride, I slept about the whole way. When we landed in LA, Dante went with his Dad and mom home. Me and my Aunt Bernice went back to San Diego on the extension Plane. Before it got there, we ate some food at Chilli's to go. That was about the best trip I will ever take until next Spring Break when we go again.
